Official: Russia’s power consumption to rise by 1.5% in 2023
MOSCOW, Dec 11 (PRIME) -- Russia’s power consumption rose by 1.2% from January 1 through December 4, excluding the air temperature factor, and it will increase by 1.5% in 2023, Deputy Energy Minister Yevgeny Grabchak told reporters on Monday.
“As of December 4 … the growth amounted to 1.2% without the adjustment for air temperature since the beginning of the year. It will be very cold for a while, this and next week the air temperatures will be at maximum, they will produce growth, in the absolute figures it will be between 1.3% and 1.4%,” he said.
“We will achieve the growth of 1.5% in 2023 just as we planned,” he said.
The ministry expects Russia’s power consumption to rise by 1–1.5% in 2024 with the large industrial projects, including those in the Far East making a significant contribution even though they should be launched in July–December, Grabchak said.
